Resources
To help Oahu’s cats and kittens, a community effort is needed. The cats in need of rescue outnumber the people in our community who are willing to help. If you have found yourself in possession of kittens needing help, please consider taking it upon yourself to watch a few instructional videos on caring for & finding homes for kittens instead of pushing the responsibility to other people/organizations.
If you are capable, Oahu could really use your help!
Kitten Lady videos are a great place to start: http://www.kittenlady.org/savekittens
We understand that not everyone is in a position to take on fostering cats/kittens, so we have listed a few resources for you. Please understand that because of our warm climate, Hawai’i is always in kitten season. Rescues are often in need of volunteers & overflowing with cats needing homes. Please be kind when asking them for help.
If you have found a friendly stray cat, please take it to be scanned for a microchip. Most veterinary clinics will happily scan them for free. It could be a lost pet.
If new kittens are a recurring issue where you live or work, please inquire with some of the organizations below about Trap, Neuter, Return. You can even learn to do it yourself!
